Alberta Ferreti opens Russian flagship
Italian designer Alberta Ferretti has opened another Russian flagship store. Her second store in that country, it is located in Kaliningrad, an up-and-coming Russian shopping destination. The new store also carries the Philosophy by Ferretti range.
The Ferretti boutique is franchised to 000 Status, the company's Russian partner, which also opened a Moscow store with Aeffe, the company that controls the brands Alberta Ferretti, Moschino and Pollini.
A spokeswoman for the company told WWD that the opening “confirms the potential of the Russian market, which is developing exponentially”. During the fall/winter 2006 collection, Russian buyers represented 4.5 percent of Ferretti sales, up from 3.3 percent last year. Russian exports accounted for 7.2 percent of the total, up 1.7 percent from the year before.
The spokeswoman also pointed out the multinational character of the city, with inhabitants as diverse as Russians, Byelorussians, Ukranians, Armenians, Germans and Poles. Although Russian, it is separated from the country by Lithuania and Latvia and is a tax-free zone. Furthermore, it is Russia's only port on the Baltic Sea.
The company has five Alberta Ferretti stores, five Philosophy stores and 12 boutiques that carry both collections.

CPM-Collection Moscow successful
The second CPM COLLECTION PREMIERE MOSCOW was a success. With a total exhibition space of 17,000 square metres, CPM registered over 8,500 trade visitors in the four days of the exhibition.
Organised
by the IGEDO COMPANY, COLLECTION PREMIERE MOSCOW has found its place on the
Russian market. This was also confirmed by the explosive increase in visitor
numbers since the debut event in September 2003. The aisles of the exhibition
halls were busy and the trade visitors came from Moscow, St. Petersburg and
other Russian regions plus CIS states such as the Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Key-account
buyers from Moscow like Podium, 7th Kontinent, Holding Center, Stockmann, Mercury,
Salita and Gum all attended CPM with their purchasing teams.
610 international brands presented their 2004/2005 Autumn/Winter collections at CPM COLLECTION PREMIERE MOSCOW. The ranges displayed by exhibitors from more than 20 nations included womens and menswear, body/beach and homewear not forgetting childrenswear and accessories. The 610 brands from Europe also featured in the form of nine joint national participations: Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom were the countries that enthused trade visitors to CPM COLLECTION PREMIERE MOSCOW with their representative national pavilions.
Both visitors and exhibitors alike rated the programme of supporting events as a true asset for CPM. The fashion shows during CPM COLLECTION PREMIERE MOSCOW were well attended and welcomed by the trade audience as a source of information and inspiration. Other highlights included the CPM Catwalk, the Fashion Trends from Germany show and the catwalk presentation of Turkish designer Ümit Ünal Fallen Angels collection. Sponsored by the IGEDO COMPANY the three young Russian female designers Irina Egorova, Elena Rat`kova and Alexandra Kirillina also presented for the first time at CPM.
Following the success of the Fashion Night at the last CPM in September, the IGEDO COMPANY held an eclectic and highly charged event at one of Moscows hottest clubs - the Shambala Zima Project. Düsseldorfs Lord Mayor, Joachim Erwin, visited CPM COLLECTION PREMIERE MOSCOW on Thursday, 26 February 2004, underscoring the importance of this fair.
CPM COLLECTION PREMIERE MOSCOW has become established not only as a national platform but also as a hub for the fashion business between Russia and Europe. This development into a central order platform for Russian retailers and the positive note on which the fair closed only encouraged the IGEDO COMPANY and its cooperation partner Messe Düsseldorf in their decision to expand the concept of CPM even further in the future.
The next CPM COLLECTION PREMIERE MOSCOW will take place from 7 to 10 September 2004 at the exhibition centre Krasnaya Presnaya Expocentr. The CPM list of exhibitors as well as other activities of the IGEDO COMPANY can be downloaded from the Internet at:
