Gant collaborates with Olympic icon

Fashion and lifestyle label Gant teams up with former athlete and Australian Olympic Gold medallist Cathy Freeman for Spring/Summer 2008. With this collaboration, the brand continues its campaign theme, “Our commitments reflect our passions” in which dedicated organisations and
committed individuals join forces with Gant to tackle issues that make a difference. Ambassadors in earlier campaigns include green pioneer and environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and ocean explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau. Gant ambassador Cathy Freeman is the first participating athlete that was given the honour of lighting the Olympic flame at the opening ceremony. Ten days later, Cathy Freeman she won the gold medal in the 400-meter sprint in her own country. ?? ?In July 2003, Cathy Freeman retired from the track and has dedicated herself to the establishment of “The Catherine Freeman Foundation”. The foundation’s aim is to inspire and create opportunities for less privileged youth and disadvantaged communities.

Recently, Gant has appointed former design director of Escada, Brian Rennie to head up their design team for all design collections. Working from the head offices in Stockholm, Rennie’s main responsibility is to develop the Gant concept and further secure its mark as an international brand.
