Nakash brothers buy skyscrapers

The Nakash brothers, who established landmarks in apparel by building the Jordache sportswear empire into one of the world's leading apparel manufacturers, have announced the purchase of landmark skyscrapers in New York City and Chicago: the historic Fred French Building in New York City and the Otis Building in Chicago. The total holiday shopping price tag: USD 258 million.

Jordache Enterprises is a global clothing manufacturer that markets its own leading brands of stylish sportswear such as Jordache, Jordache Vintage, Gasoline Junior, Gasoline Girls, Fubu Ladies, Fubu Girls, Jeanjer, Kikit by Maurice Sassoon and the U.S. Polo Association label for men, women and children.

Jordache Chairman Joe Nakash, who, along with brothers Ralph and Avi, owns the global apparel manufacturer, says the purchase of buildings from Met Life represented a once-in-lifetime opportunity. "Icons like these buildings only come along once in a generation," Nakash said. "We seized the opportunity to be part of it."

The company owns and operates large manufacturing facilities in Jordan, Mexico, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco and the Philippines. Its widespread manufacturing network is supported in the U.S. by large distribution centres in New Jersey and Louisiana. The company's corporate head office is situated in New York City.
