HMKM renovates HN's swimwear department

Hosker Moore Kent Melia (HMKM) has renovated the swimwear department of the Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge department store. The Swimwear department is the first in a series of renovations. HMKM has created an elegant look which evokes a luxurious resort, with timber deck flooring and stone-clad walls. The display of the Designer collections has been accentuated with a timber-lined ceiling and woven raffia panels, with these materials being lit to emphasize their natural textures. The 2,500 ft2 swimwear department on the third floor is a signature department of fashion brands sold within Harvey Nichols. Confirmed labels so far include Jets, Burberry, Laura Urbinati, Cacharel, Bachata, Sage Sarong, Zimmermann, Allegra Hicks, Missoni, Calvin Klein, Eres and Ann Louise Roswald.

HMKM are also currently at work on the renovation of Harvey Nichols menswear department, the first section of which is set to launch in time for Christmas 2002. The consultancy also was responsible for designing Harvey Nichols first store outside
London in Leeds. Following this HMKM was commissioned to create a 80,000 ft2 store for Harvey Nichols in Riyadh.
