British manufacturing on the rise

British manufacturing is rising at its fastest pace in three years, according to a survey by the CIPS/NTC. Factory gate inflation hit its highest since the survey began in 1992.

Domestic demand appeared to be driving the gains as new exports orders grew at the slowest rate since the start of the year. New orders overall, however, rose at their fastest pace in 13 months.

The UK Report on Manufacturing is a monthly publication, researched and published by NTC Research on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. It is based on a survey of over 600 business executives in UK private sector manufacturing companies and is designed to provide the most up-to-date picture of business conditions in the UK private manufacturing sector. Data were first collected in January 1992.
