Textile Forum fabric fervour

The next Textile Forum scheduled for 18-19 March 2009 will have a wide mix of top end wools to finest silks, plains, fancies, embroideries, prints and exotic animal skins on display. Hosted at the Music Room in London, a new range of digital prints will be shown by Bennett Silks, while Ascher will be promoting originals from its extensive archive. Jacquards will be offered by Filtex, which also has a large selection of embroidered designs. As far as colours are concerned, bridalwear specialists Carrington Fleet is meeting the demand for green tones with lace in pistachio and avocado alongside traditional shades.

"Exhibitors at Textile Forum specialise in exciting, innovative, quality collections, available in small minimums, which is are just right for invigorating the designer market during these tough economic times," says organiser Linda Laderman.

Keen to encourage UK talent, Ringhart, the shirting specialists, has organised a competition with students at Kingston University to demonstrate that its fabrics are not just for traditional tailored shirts. Finalist's designs and mood boards will be displayed at the show for final judging by a panel of industry experts.

Marling & Evans will be showing West of England woollens; G H Leathers specialises in leather and suede and exotic skins; and Bernstein & Banleys will have its full range of linings and interlinings. Other exhibitors are: Acorn Fabrics, Basinghall, Belinac of France, Bradshaw & Bradshaw, Denholme, Henry Bertrand, HOH, James Hare, J T Knitting, Laurent Garigue Partnership, Michael's Bridal Fabrics, Pongees, Schwarzschild Ochs, Selvedge and Solstiss.
