Selfridges hampers by Anya HindmarchFriday, 26 September 2008
Even though the holiday season seems a quite far away, we just found out that Anya Hindmarch is collaborating with department store Selfridges to develop this years Christmas hamper collection. For the occasion Hindmarch designed traditional hamper basket with a twist and spent several hours in Selfridges at night choosing all of the contents.
Hindmarch says, “I have always been fascinated by hampers, their history and Britishness, but am always disappointed by yet another basket whose contents I don’t actually want to keep. When Selfridges asked if I wanted to design a hamper, I leapt at the idea of not only designing a hamper but choosing what I would really like to receive in one. The sort of ‘hamper you would really like hamper’.
The collection includes eleven hampers ranging from a ‘Mothers Ruin’, ‘Best of British', ‘New Year, New You’, and the ‘Ultimate Girlie' hamper that will retail at £1,000 including Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Pretty Woman DVDs, pink champagne, cashmere socks, Essie nail polishes, a Diptyque candle, an iPod, Eve Lom galore and a tin of biscuits made in the shape of Anya Hindmarch handbags.
Each hamper will include a cracker with a chance to win an Anya Hindmarch handbag and has a luggage tag that can be personalised with a message. The hampers will be available in all Selfridges stores and online from mid October.
