Asda Christmas comes earlyWednesday, 07 October 2009
Asda has launched an online Christmas gift shop on its Asda Direct site offering a range of gifts. A survey by the retailer found that 48% of shoppers are buying Christmas gifts early in order to spread the cost of Christmas this year and a third expect to spend less on festive gifts than last year. Of those planning to spend less, 80% said they are hoping to spend up to £250 less on Christmas gifts this year.
"With only three more pay days until Christmas, many of our customers have started their festive shopping earlier than ever in a bid to spread the costs this year," says Asda's Jennifer England. "People might think we're crazy for selling gifts already, but our customers are telling us it's what they want so we're doing all we can to help them."
