While menswear designers wrap up London Fashion Week, Gucci kicks off Milan Fashion Week. For the next seven days 72 brands, including Prada, Marni, Missoni and Dolce & Gabbana, will present their autumn-winter 2012 collections in Italy’s fashion capital.

Tuesday marks the end of Milan Fashion Week with a timetable dedicated to new upcoming designers. The day will also see exploration of Leonardo da Vinci’s fashion creations. Gherardini made a drawing from the Renaissance artist – most famous for painting Mona Lisa – come to life in the form of a handbag. The Florence luxury house named the calfskin bag ‘La Pretiosa’, which means precious.
