High street retailer Next has revealed its men's suit and women's dress, which Team GB will wear for formal events at London 2012. The formal-wear, which will be worn by more than 1,000 Olympians and Palaympians at the July 27 Opening Ceremony, at sponsorship events, and at an official meeting with the Queen, is made up entirely of navy blue.

The smart attire, which has been created in 66 different sizes, consists of a navy three-piece suit for the men that have been lined with "breathable" mesh panels, and the women will wear a sleeveless cowl neck dress featuring a laser-cut Union Jack on the bodice, which will be teamed with low court shoes.

Finishing off the designs Next has stitched onto the underside of the collars and engraved onto buttons the team GB motto: "Better Never Stops".

A replica line of the uniform will be available from Next including the men’s suit for £220, and the Union Jack embellished clutch that the women will carry for £25.

In addition, Next will also be providing uniforms for 4,500 technical officials and suits for organisers as part of the sponsorship deal.
