Paul Smith Olympic stamps

Thursday, 05 January 2012
Iconic British fashion designer Sir Paul Smith has designed a collection of stamps for the Isle of Man Post Office to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games, inspired by the Olympic legacy and his passion for cycling.

The group of seven stamps, which reflects some of the 24 Olympic sports, features bold graphic prints inspired by the UK’s leading sporting figures including his close friend, Isle of Man native and Olympic cyclist, Mark Cavendish, and bears the designer’s signature.

"It's a real honour to be asked to design these stamps. I've tried to make them positive and colourful with a strong graphic style of design," said Sir Paul Smith.

Prices for the colourful stamps start from £3 for a single miniature sheet to £50 for a hardback collector’s book, which includes text and images by the designer, as well as contributions from Olympic athletes.

The London 2012 Olympic Games will take place between July 27 and August 12.
