LFW: Simone Rocha

Tuesday, 21 February 2012
For autumn/winter 2012, Newgen recipient Simone Rocha continued her study of masculine strength and modern femininity, taking inspiration from images of feral tribes of Papua New Guinea and Dublin city children of the 1930’s.

The collection used texture and new techniques to craft unexpected surfaces in densely tufted wools on PVC, crochet yarns worked into poplin or leather, and new fabrications in lace lined Melton and Linton tweed encased in tulle, guipure and corded lace, wild mohair, mirror leathers and spotty print hides.
