Walpole 2011 British luxury awards

British luxury not for profit organisation Walpole has announced the nominations for the 2011 Walpole Awards for Excellence. In assocation with Coutts, the awards honour companies and individuals in the fashion and luxury industries, noting outstanding achievement in design, craftsmanship, business and culture. Past winners have included Burbery, Erdem, Dunhill and Paul Smith, amongst others.

Now in its 10th year, the nominees for best British Luxury Brand are: Alexander McQueen, McLaren Automotive, Boodles, Burberry and Mulberry. Other award categories are Best Emerging British Brand, British Culture Excellence, Luxury Brand Online, and best British Luxury Brand Overseasons.

The winners of the ten awards will be announced at the Walpole Awards of Excellence on Monday 14th November 2011 at the Banqueting House, Whitehall. The ceremony is attended by around 500 luxury industry executives. Past winners, medalists and judges include Sir Ian McKellen, Mario Testino, Dame Vivienne Westwood, Caroline Rush, CEO of British Fashion Council, Earl of March & Kinrara, Michael Ward, MD of Harrods, Nick Candy, CEO of Candy & Candy, Gianluca Brozzetti, CEO of Roberto Cavalli and Stephen Alden, CEO of Maybourne Hotel Group.
