The 3rd annual Generation Next design competition and music event by Californian clothing brand O’Neill is taking place on 9th October in Los Angeles. The evening will be co-hosted by designer and celebrity stylist, Soyon An, currently on tour with
Carrie Underwood and two-time Emmy Award winner for costume design on television series ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. The event is hosted in association with Teen Vogue.
Marking the completion of a six-month program based at O’Neill’s headquarters in Irvine, California, five students from local high schools will present their original designs on the catwalk during an action-packed evening, featuring an O’Neill Swim fashion show with international model and brand ambassador, Elyse Taylor; and a live musical performance by The Like, whose second album Release Me was produced by Mark Ronson.
Each 2010 Generation Next participant is competing for a prize package including a design internship at O’Neill, $5,000 education scholarship, a new O’Neill wardrobe, exposure in Teen Vogue, and the winning design will be available exclusively at PacSun stores as part of O’Neill’s Spring 2011 collection.
