Fashion company Mexx opened a new concept store at the Gallerian shopping centre in Stockholm, Sweden. It’s the sixth Mexx store in the world to feature the new Metropolitan Casual Lifestyle brand and the first store to sell clothing
for ladies, men and children. Inspired by the major cities in across the globe, the concept offers shoppers an individual retail experience in a 1920s chic setting.
The new store features 600 square metres of fashion for ladies, men and children. The interior is inspired by an antique vintage style, enhanced by natural, organic materials such as wood and stone. Throughout the store consumers find graffiti, photos and accessories reflecting the 1920s style.
“We selected Stockholm to launch our new retail concept at this early stage because of the great knowledge of and interest in fashion among the Scandinavian people. We regard Sweden and the other Scandinavian countries as key markets for our brand," said Knut Burgdorf, Mexx’s Vice President of Marketing.
The Dutch fashion company intends to open additional concept stores in the spring and autumn of 2011, with Norway and Finland both on the list.
