Topshop group see profits plumme

Monday, 21 November 2011
Arcadia Group owner Sir Philip Green is expected to announce a plunge in profits at his Topshop and Bhs stores this week.

It will be the latest piece of bad news after a series of gloomy reports last week from retailers, including Mothercare and French Connection.

Billionaire fashion mogul Green is expected to report that profits in the year to August at the group - which also includes Dorothy Perkins, Top Man, Burton, Miss Selfridge, Wallis and Evans - dropped by a third to under £150million. Sales are about £2.7billion.
