M&S X Marcel Wanders

Monday, 16 May 2011

M&S has appointed industrial designer Marcel Wanders to a design a gift range for its lucrative Christmas season. Products will likely include fashionable homeware and other ranges.

Wanders, who's product aesthetic can be described as ultra-modern and cutting-edge, is to bring a more contemporary look to Marks and Spencer homewares and gifts. Wanders, who like M&S' CEO Marc Bolland is a Dutch native, previously produced a collection for American budget retailer Target in 2009.

Early this year Bolland appointed Sir Terrence Conran, founder of the Habitat and Conran businesses, to jazz up M&S' furnishings range.
