Marks and Spencer stores in three Lincolnshire towns will close, the company has confirmed.
Branches in Grantham, Skegness and Scunthorpe will close early next year.
Campaigns to stop the closures were started in all three towns with the Skegness store collecting more than 20,0000 signatures on a petition. Marks and Spencer said it had seen years of falling sales which meant the three stores were no longer commercially viable.
Marks and Spencer said that it had consulted with employees and had listened carefully to their views and suggestions.
It added it had also listened to the views of local residents but that none of the proposed alternatives it received would have made the stores commercially viable.
