McQ appoints new head of designTuesday, 18 September 2012
Alistair Carr, the former design director of Pringle of Scotland, has been confirmed as the
new head of design at Alexander McQueen’s diffusion label, McQ.
The designer, who left his year-long role at Pringle in April, will be responsible for the McQ’s menswear, womenswear and accessories, and will showcase his first collection for pre-autumn/winter 2013-14.
Carr, a graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art, will report directly to Sarah Burton, who will still hold overall creative control for the McQ brand image and its collections.
The news of the appointment follows the opening of the diffusion label’s debut store on London’s Dover Street.
