Contemporary British designer fashion brand Hobbs has unveiled an £18m multichannel capital
investment programme in its stores and online capability. This expansion comes as the brand has experienced a 10 per cent increase in sales for autumn/winter 2011 over the past six months, and in recognition of its on-going International plans, which has already seen the retail start trading in 20 new countries over the last three months.
The retailer has also announced that its latest brand, Hobbs Invitation will formally launch in March with a salon show for the media, and will hit stores in April.
The sister brands of Hobbs London and NW3 by Hobbs will also see further development with range expansion and the launch of stand-alone stores.
“This substantial brand investment is underpinned by all the fantastic customer feedback we have had over the last 18 months,” said Iain MacRitchie, Hobbs Chairman. “For autumn/winter 11, we spent over £6m investment in store trials and website development to support the inspired fashion collections that our designers have created. This has given us the confidence to invest a further £18m in the UK and Internationally.
The demand has exceeded our expectations, particularly in the Southern Hemisphere, and shows the fantastic overseas potential for authentic contemporary British designer fashion.”
