Harvey Nichols report stellar sales

Everybody loves a bargain, especially if its from luxury department store Harvey Nichols. The company reported stellar post-Christmas sales, as shoppers queued up in the early hours of Boxing Day for discount luxury items.

The department store group said its post-Christmas Sale had broken records despite tube strikes in the capital, reduced trading hours and problems with transportation due to the snow.

Following a strong year for handbag sales, stock levels of last season’s must-have handbags were limited at 30% discount.

The fourth floor of the Knightsbridge store had performed well during the first three days of the post-Christmas Sale, added Harvey Nichols, with brands including McQ and 3.1 Phillip Lim “excelling”. D&G outperformed the rest with the designer label’s denim trim coat at 50% off selling out in the first hour.

Harvey Nichols said that menswear had been “exceptional” so far, with brands including Paul Smith and Acne among the bestsellers.
