Happy Socks among winners at the Sceptre AwardsTuesday, 26 June 2012
Last week the winners of the SCEPTRE Awards, which recognise
the best practice and the best people in the shopping centre industry, were announced at London's Dorchester Hotel.
The awards honour the best management, marketing, security, event, operation, waste, and customer service teams from shopping centre’s across the UK, as well as the best independent and short term retailers.
Among the winners were Happy Socks, the Swedish sock and hosiery company, which was awarded the prestigious SCEPTRE award for Short Term Retailer of the Year, for their standalone outlet at the Westfield shopping centre in White City, London.
The outlet, which was the first for the brand, was set up in October 2011, and was awarded the accolade for its exceptional Christmas sales, beating sales targets by 40 per cent and selling 1,000 pairs of socks per week.
This year also saw the addition of the ‘Grand Prix’ award, a new award that aims to identify and celebrate the organisation that has demonstrated consistent success across all the SCEPTRE categories. The inaugural 2012 winner was Westfield Shopping Centres, due to it receiving the highest aggregate total points for all those shortlisted in all categories.
