Lifestyle brand Diesel announced it is making less use of the sandblasting technique to create
a worn look for its denim in respect of local safety laws. The company asked its suppliers to fully respect the specific legal procedures in the production and protection of the workers in their countries.
Any supplier used by Diesel is asked to hold on to its own code of conduct in which is requested to respect and comply with the laws of the country they are located in. Even when all the above is respected, Diesel is introducing a ban to avoid the use of sandblasting starting from SS12. The company will use other techniques to achieve the same denim look.
