After a flying start Stine Riis continues to soar

Monday, 17 September 2012

That promising young Scandinavian artists are provided with a stage at the Gallery International Fashion Fair is already a known fact. Stine Riis is certainly one of those. Stine grabbed her chance with both hands and not only did she surprise Gallery visitors with her striking collection but she also put on her first show during the Copenhagen Fashion Week. Not bad going for a label that first saw the light of day in 2011. And the story continues…

About R II S
After a flying start Stine Riis continues to soarR II S was founded in 2011 by Stine Riis from the ambition to design finished, futuristic and mainly elegant clothes. As soon as Stine graduated from the London College of Fashion she became internationally recognised by fashion lovers and more importantly, by fashion experts. By June 2011 she had already received her first prize, namely the Briddle Sawyer Silks Award for her innovative use of textiles. Shortly afterwards, in September 2011, Stine was selected by the prestigious Italian Vogue as one of the best students in the world; an amazing performance for a then unknown name. On one of the Gallery fair floors at Copenhagen during the Fashion Week Stine had the opportunity to demonstrate what she is capable of and that has evidently not gone unnoticed. In February 2012 she won the H&M International Design Award and her first collection will land in H&M stores all over Europe on the 20th of September. “Stine’s collection of exquisitely constructed separates displayed the kind of elegance and polish usually associated with established designers not design students. Her designs are real must-have-pieces, quite exceptional!”- According to Cat Callender, publisher and journalist from the London Fashion Week The Daily.

In short; once again, up and coming talent from Scandinavia! Her first collection can be admired in H&M from the 20th of September and Stine will also take part in Gallery’s next edition.
