Whilst everyone is warming up to London Fashion Week in the British capital, Stockholm saw the debut of Filippa K’s AW08 show at the Royal Opera House. For the very first time, Filippa K decided to present its new collection on the catwalk as part of Stockholm Fashion Week. The show was set in the stylish décor of the Royal Swedish Opera and marked a starting point for the partnership between Filippa K and the Opera. The collection combined an urban youth and elegance in contrast between the contemporary show and classical building. Twenty models styled by Robert Rydberg showcased the collection to the international fashion press.

Creative Manager Rasmus Wingardh said: “This is a very exciting collection for us, influenced by early seventies England and full of funky contrast between early punk and classic English refinement, with a dash of humour and sense of not taking yourself too seriously. Image a stylish young Lord or Lady in the early seventies who’s gone totally punk.”

Velvet Underground’s singer Nico, inspired the Filippa K Woman collection. Fusses masculine and feminine elements, letting rebellious punk meet girlish sensuality. The theme for the male line had a rough elegance, mixing classic British with the early punk days.

Filippa K is one of Sweden’s fastest growing fashion labels. With around 300 employees, 750 retailers throughout Europe, North America and Australia represent the company. Filippa K also has concept stores in Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
