As we reported earlier this month, over fiscal year 2007/2008 Wolford reached a record sales level featuring an 11,3% rise in total sale.
The luxury label just published its 1Q and informed us of further sales growth. The sales went up with 4.6% compared to the already strong first quarter of previous fiscal year. In the period May 1st to July 31st, the Austrian brand increased sales in a year-on-year comparison to EUR 31,9%, up from EUR 30.5 million in the 1Q of the previous year. Adjusted for currency effects this corresponds to sales growth of 8,1%.
Wolford particularly positively developed a double-digit growth in Central and Eastern Europe, the Netherlands, the Scandinavian markets, France and in the UK. On its domestic market of Austria, sales were a bit below the previous year’s level.
