The Sex & the City hype has been lucrative for many brands, who have seen the release of the film as an opportunity to jump on its
fashion band-wagon and boost sales. Now Marks & Spencer have reportedly signed a deal with SATC stylist Patricia Field, who was responsible for the film's high fashion content and Manolo obsessions, to create a one-off clothing range.
The collection will debut this Autumn Winter and is due in stores in October, reported WGSN. This is also the first time the UK retailer has worked with a designer on a one-off range that will be sold in both its UK and overseas stores. Neil Hendy, head of design for womenswear, told WGSN: "It's a very eclectic and glamorous range and represents Patricia Field's style. It's a great collaboration for M&S - she's a big name to be working with." Kate Bostock, M&S executive director of clothing, added: "We are thrilled to have pulled off this deal with Patricia Field. We were determined to have exclusivity on it not only in the UK but also in our international markets, as it's such an amazing collection and a big first for us." The Patricia Field for M&S collection comprises 35 pieces and will be available in 10 M&S stores from mid-October and online. The range will have a luxury appeal with a nod to on-trend, high-octane glamour and focuses primarily on dresses as well as a capsule collection of tops, trousers and accessories. |
