M&S director criticism continues E-mail
Monday, 28 April 2008
Marks and Spencer is facing a fresh clash with investors after the retailer brushed aside demands from leading shareholders to put all its directors up for re-election.

The Association of British Insurers made the request in a letter to M&S as part of efforts to calm shareholder anger over the company's controversial decision to elevate Sir Stuart Rose from chief executive to chairman without consultation.

M&S said the request was among a lot of things being discussed and it would not consider annual re-election of all directors before July of 2009.
