This week, Jean-Paul Gaultier might scout for new talent at the Graduation Show of fashion academy La Cambre in Brussels. On several occasions
established designers visited the Graduation Show of La Cambre to discover up-and-coming designers.
La Cambre can be compared to the ‘Six of Antwerp’ with i.e. Dries van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Bikkembergs en Walter van Beirendonck. Fashion designers Olivier Theysskens en Cathy Pill have graduated from the academy in Brussels. La Cambre is known for its artistic and poetical approach towards fashion. The 56 year old designer Gaultier himself never studied a degree in fashion. Pierre Cardin discovered him in the 70s. |
