Friday, 25 January 2008
Consumer campaign organisation Which? ranked JJB Sports as the worst customer service in a survey of 11,000 people. Waitrose ranked number one in its customer satisfaction survey and John Lewis, which is owned by the same firm as Waitrose, came second.

Which? said the best stores realised the "most important thing" to provide was well-informed staff.

"On the other hand, nothing alienates customers more than unfriendly, ignorant shop assistants, or even worse, not being able to find a member of staff when you need one" said the report.

John Lewis gained an overall score of 77% out of a possible 100% for maximum satisfaction.

JD Sports, which was given an overall customer satisfaction rate of 33%, scored 6% for customer service.

Previous research by Verdict has also seen Waitrose in the top position in terms of customer satisfaction.
