Christian Dior, the French fashion House with John Galliano at its helm, has dropped the Hollywood star Sharon Stone from its advertising campaign in China.

Stone last week made comments about the Sichuan earthquake which caused anger amongst the Chinese media. Speaking at the Cannes film festival last week, the actress implied that the quake could have been the result of bad karma - a kind of spiritual justice - because of China's treatment of people in Tibet. Christian Dior said it was deeply sorry about her comments.

Stone has since apologised for her remarks. The office Xinhua News Agency called her the "public enemy of all mankind."
