This year no one less then supermodel Claudia Schiffer joins the jury of River Island Gold Panel for Graduate Fashion Week (GFW). The
competition is taking place from June 8-12 at Earls Court, London. After working for 21 years in the fashion industry, Claudia is keen to support emerging new talent. “I have been privileged to witness the incredible expertise of some of the most inspiring design talents in the world. The passion and energy that surrounds this creative world are addictive and to take part in supporting the birth of new talent is fantastic”, she commented.
With a prize worth £20,000, the River Island Gold Award is one of Britain’s most sought after prizes for fashion graduates. Previously, River Island Gold Award judges include, Alber Elbaz, Artistic Director Lanvin; Stefano Pilati, Creative Director of Yves Saint Laurent; Sophia Kokosalaki and British Vogue’s Alexandra Shulman, American Harpers Bazaar Editor to name but a few. Graduate Fashion Week is one of the world’s largest showcases of budding design talent. The event celebrates the works of more than 1000 of the finest BA Degree fashion students from 49 member universities across the UK. |
