Sports apparel adidas was very pleased to hear, that the European Court of Justice's backed the brand in their stripes trademark
row. The interpretation of the law by the European Court strengthens the protection of adidas' trademarks in Europe. The brand will benefit in the protection of the renowned 3-stripes trademark.
In protecting the 3-stripes trademark, adidas isn’t looking to prevent the use of decoration. The sports label wants to put a stop the use of striped markings that confuse consumers, or cause them to make a link with the company and its trademark.
