In an effort ot improve its public image, the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, is to hold its first-ever meet-and-greet with the press at its headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. The company has been caught in the public's headlights and has receives a great deal of criticism due to its fast growth, market dominance and position as America's largest imployer. It is battling a number of lawsuits alleging discrimination in the workplace and increased resistance to its attempts to enter urban communities. CEO Lee Scott said tha the company is open to "constructive criticism" but would like to take the opportunity ot clear up the company's reputation and its role in society. |
