Gianni Versace's Ocean-front Miami mansion is to be opened as a fashion museum, Vogue reported this week. The currant owner, who bought the palazzo in 2000, is rumoured to be planning to fill Casa Casuarina with designs by Versace and other designers and open it up to the public as a tribute to the designer. All hope of the house being kept as a permanent memorial to Versace was shattered when the family sold it to Peter Loftin for approximately USD 19m. Loftin originally planned to use it as a private residence and then reportedly considered turning it into a hotel. His new plans for the property have delighted Versace fans the world over, Vogue said. Loftin is expected to announce his plans for the house shortly. Casa Casuarina was built for an oil executive in the Thirties and is now Florida's most photographed building.
