Luxury goods group PPR is contemplating acquisitions in the US to boost its international growth, according to a report by the Financial Times. Chief executive Francois-Henri Pinault said in an interview with the paper that potential targets included a non-textile catalogue company.

"We are looking at opportunities to make a medium-sized acquisition," he said. "We are not looking at a specific product category...It has to be specialised." Pinault added that the group regards the US as "an area of growth" for its Redcats mail-order division. This includes France's La Redoute, the UK's Empire Stores and Lane Bryant Catalogue in the US.
