British sporting goods chain JJB Sports has reported continued sales decreases. The company blames the poor performance on a difficult trading environment and a lack of large-scale sports events. JJB's sales for late April and May showed a double-digit percentage drop, with a total decline of 7.7 per cent for the 16-week period ended 22 May. The company's performance in 2004 was boosted by replica football uniform sales during the Euro 2004 tournament. JJB said it hoped the company would profit as much from the 2006 World Cup. |
