Although John Galliano is not exactly new to swinwear, the designer will now launch a dedicated beachwear line for women. Produced under license by manufacturer Albisetti - which also produces swimwear for brands like Roberto Cavalli en Chloé - the collection will be revealed in early July at the Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris. The range includes one-pieces, separates and various bikini-top styles executed in eight themes. The collection will also include a limited line of beach bags.

The suits and bikini's are adorned with the designer's signature as well as the famous Galliano Gazette print. Looks which differentiate Galliano from other designers - like his corsets - are evident in the beachwear collection, as is the designer's whacky sense of humour: a striped jailhouse print is complete with printed jail key with metal key charm detailing. Wholesale prices for the collection range from $90 to $100 (£50).
